USCIS just revamped their online InfoPass website which allows you to schedule an appointment at one of their numerous field offices. The InfoPass system is designed to help individuals who cannot find answers to their questions on the general USCIS website. It is best to schedule an InfoPass appointment if you have not received expected government documents; if you found errors on documents sent by the government; if your employment or travel documents were not received during normal processing periods; in case of emergent travel; if you experienced delays of a pending case outside the standard processing times; or if you need answers to a specific case related question not resolved at other levels. This new site includes a new mapping function to easily locate offices in the U.S. Check out their new web address: my.uscis.gov/appointment.
Please note that the InfoPass system is designed to resolve factual or system issues relating to the processing of immigration benefits by USCIS. It is not recommended to schedule an InfoPass if you need substantive legal advice relating to immigration benefits. If you or your family require legal advice, it is best to schedule a consultation with experienced immigration counsel.
